1,677 pass physician licensure exams; UP grads take top 2 spots
A total of 1,677 out of 2,302 examinees or 72.85% passed the October 2021 Physician Licensure Exam, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said Thursday.
Of the 1,677 passers, 1,664 were first-timers while 13 were repeaters.
Students from the University of the Philippines took the top two spots, with Ian Gabriel Alparaque Juyad scoring a passing rate of 87.50%, and Jian Kenzo Ong Leal and Geremiah Edison Daniel Cosia Llanes tying in second place with 87.42%. Five UP Manila grads were among the 17 passers in the top 10.
The University of Santo Tomas had seven graduates among the 17 placers in the top 10 as well.
The top performing school was the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila with 101 of its 103 takers passing for a 98.6% success rate, closely followed by UP Manila's 96.3%, with 78 of its 81 takers passing.
