Philippines welcomes over 800K doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from France

The Philippines on Saturday received 811,980 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine given by the French government through the COVAX facility.

According to the National Task Force Against COVID-19, the fresh batch of vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m.

NTF special adviser Ted Herbosa expressed gratitude to the government of France for the donation.

He also discussed the impact of Typhoon Odette's devastation on vaccine distribution.

“We really hope that we can continue to vaccinate soon in Visayas and Davao, especially the areas that were not affected. Of course, we expect that the areas affected [by the typhoon] will have some relief operations, so we will have some delays in the vaccination in that area,” he said.
