SC suspends filing of court submissions due to Odette

The Supreme Court (SC) has suspended the filing of pleadings and other court submissions from December 20, 2021 to January 3, 2022 due to Typhoon Odette.

In an administrative circular, the high tribunal said this is in light of the onslaught of Typhoon Odette in Bicol, Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao, leading to severe and extensive damage to government infrastructure.

“The filing periods of any and all pleadings and other court submissions that fell due or would fall due during the said period are hereby extended for several calendar days counted from January 4, 2022,” the SC said.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Monday said that more than 1.8 million people were affected by the impact of Odette.
