Sen. Lacson tests positive for COVID-19

Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson on Friday said he has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet, Lacson said he underwent RT-PCR on Tuesday, January 4, and the result came out on Thursday, January 6.

"Immediately informed all my Jan 3 physical contacts of my Jan 4 Covid-positive test result which was released only last night, Jan 6 so they can take extra precautions to protect their loved ones and others," Lacson said.

"Thank God no one is exhibiting symptoms. Wearing our masks helped much."

Aside from Lacson, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian earlier announced he tested positive for COVID-19 and is now on self-quarantine.

The Philippines on Thursday recorded 17,220 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 2,888,917. —KBK, GMA News
