PNP records 390 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday recorded 390 new COVID-19 cases among its personnel.

This drove up the total tally of COVID-19 infections in the police force to 45,321, data from the PNP Health Service showed.

Meanwhile, 129 cases recovered, thus total recoveries number 41,168 to date.

The death toll on the other hand remained at 125.

The Philippines on Friday logged 37,207 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily tally since the start of pandemic, increasing the nationwide count to 3,129,512. 

Total active cases are 265,509, of which 8,325 are asymptomatic, 252,502 are mild, 2,913 are moderate, 1,469 are severe, and 300 are in critical condition.

The number of recoveries rose to 2,811,188 after 9,027 more patients recovered from the respiratory disease.

The country’s death toll climbed to 52,815, with 81 new fatalities. —KG, GMA News
