Isko Moreno open to using Dolomite Beach as vax site

Presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Thursday said he is open to using the Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach as COVID-19 vaccination site.

Moreno, however, said the construction in the area should already be finished so that the site will be used for the vaccination of the public.

"Kung feasible, bakit hindi? That’s a very good idea. Tapos na ba ‘yung construction nila, safe ba sa mga tao? ‘Yun naman ang concern natin palagi eh, ‘yung safety ng mga tao,” Moreno said.

"Pansinin niyo, kapag pumipili tayo ng lugar, secluded halos lagi ‘yung mga lugar. Geographically feasible sa gagawing function doon sa particular na action plan, Pero okay ‘yun, bakunahan sa dolomite,” Moreno added.

Moreno also reiterated his call for the people to get vaccinated and to also get their booster shots as soon as possible, stressing that the city's vaccination sites are open to everyone.

The Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer said he has exerted all efforts to implement an aggressive and innovative vaccination campaign to protect as many people as possible against COVID-19, including the Omicron coronavirus variant.

Moreno underscored that providing the public with more access to vaccination facilities has resulted in more people getting vaccinated, with 23,676 individuals vaccinated on January 17 with their first dose, second dose and booster shots throughout the city.

Meanwhile, on January 15, a total of 22,346 people were vaccinated while 20,787 people obtained their anti-COVID shots on January 14. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
