PNP COVID-19 tally now at 47,603 with 186 new infections

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday reported 186 new COVID-19 cases among its personnel, bringing its total infections to 47,603.

Based on the PNP data, a total of 45,156 cases have already recovered from the disease, while 2,321 are still active cases.

The death toll among policemen due to COVID-19 remained at 126.

Meanwhile, a total of 217,800 (96.70%) of its personnel are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19; 6,457 (2.87%) are still awaiting their second dose, and 72,003 personnel (33.11%) have received booster shots.

The PNP said 982 (0.43%) personnel have yet to be vaccinated from COVID-19.

On Tuesday, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 17,677 new COVID-19 cases pushing the country’s tally to 3,459,646. At least 247,451 are still active cases. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
