Lacson rebuffs Robredo on lack of ground action remark: Hindi lang ako ma-epal

By RICHA NORIEGA,GMA News

Presidential aspirant and Senator Panfilo Lacson on Wednesday rejected the remark made by Vice President Leni Robredo that he lacked action on the ground, saying he doesn't just show off his deeds.

“Hindi ako kulang sa ‘on the ground’. Hindi lang talaga ako ma-epal tuwing magbibigay ng tulong sa mga kalamidad man o sa mga indibidwal na tulong,” Lacson said in a Twitter post.

(I don’t lack on the ground action. I just don’t want to brag every time I help during calamities or to people in need.)

Robredo in a television interview was asked why the people should not vote for the other presidential aspirants, particularly Bongbong Marcos Jr., Isko Moreno and Lacson.

On Lacson, she said: "Maraming salita, pero on the ground, kulang."

Robredo also said the public should not vote for Marcos because he is a liar.

"Hindi klaro yung paninindigan sa maraming bagay (His position on many things is unclear)," Robredo said of Moreno.

And while Robredo praised Pacquiao for having a good heart, the Vice President said it was not enough.

Lacson’s running-mate, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, came to the side of his presidential bet.

"'Yun palang pinatino ang PNP, nilabanan ang korapsyon sa pera ng bayan at 18 taon na maraming mahalagang batas na inakda ay walang ginawa! Aba, bago yun ah!” Sotto said.

(The one who introduced reforms in PNP, fought corruption of public funds, and legislated important laws for 18 years was tagged as someone who did not do anything. That’s new to me.) — with Hana Bordey/LDF/RSJ, GMA News
