The One Hospital Command Center (OHCC) has seen an increase in the number of calls from different parts of the country amid the surge of COVID-19 cases, its medical officer said Friday.

Interviewed at the Laging Handa briefing, OHCC Medical Officer III Dr. Marylaine Padlan said calls received by the national OHCC was at 500 to 700 calls per day, which came mostly from the National Capital Region, Region III and Region IV-A.

"But in other regions, we are seeing an increasing number of requests, such as Regions 1, 3, 8 and 11. These are based on reports of our regional OHCCs," Padlan said in a mix of English and Filipino.

Padlan said NCR's hospitalization utilization rate is already at "low risk" at 42%. Regions 3 and 4-A were also at low risk.

Region 13 is still at high risk, while the rest of the regions are at moderate risk.

Padlan said persons reporting of mild COVID-19 symptoms were referred to isolation facilities or local government units after one to two days.

The OHCC earlier in the month reported that calls they received have further increased to more than 1,120 a day— RSJ, GMA News
