China donates P1 billion in equipment to Philippine military

China has donated RMB130 million or P1 billion worth of equipment to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Department of National Defense has said.

The first batch of military equipment worth RMB76 million arrived in Manila on January 16.

The second batch worth RMB54 million is expected at a later date.

The donation is composed of various military equipment such as rescue and relief equipment, drone systems, detectors, water purification vehicles, ambulances, firetrucks, x-ray machines, EOD robots, bomb disposal suits and transport vehicles; and engineering equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, forklifts, and earthmovers.

The equipment will be formally turned over to the DND and AFP next month. —NB, GMA News
