Some presidential aspirants on Tuesday joined the Filipino-Chinese community in celebrating the Chinese New Year.

Vice President Leni Robredo said even though the celebration is different this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 threat, there is hope for the people to recover and start again.

She also said Filipinos could win over trials if they will unite and help each other.

Former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed hope that the year of the Water Tiger "brings us good fortune, prosperity, and above all unity towards a shared future and post-pandemic tomorrow."

He also extended his warm greetings to the People’s Republic of China, represented by Ambassador Huang Xilian, and to all Filipino-Chinese communities in the Philippines and even abroad.

Meanwhile, Senator Manny Pacquiao is hopeful that the year of the Water Tiger "may unleash the fierceness in us to pursue with confidence and grit, our new goals - in our health, in our finances and in our relations with the people and the environment surrounding us."—AOL, GMA News
