Guanzon victimized by fake food orders on her last day in office

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon was victimized by fake food orders on Wednesday, her last day in office.

A report by Manny Vargas on Super Radyo dzBB said six or seven food delivery riders arrived at Palacio del Gobernador, Comelec's main office, in Manila only to find out that neither Guanzon nor her office ordered anything.

A tweet by GMA News' Tina Panganiban-Perez said P5,390 worth of food was ordered via an app using Guanzon's name. Guanzon's office reportedly denied booking the order.

Guanzon, whose retirement from office begins on February 3, has been in the headlines lately after she accused fellow Commissioner Aimee Ferolino of deliberately delaying the resolution of the consolidated disqualification cases against presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Guanzon has voted for Marcos' disqualification due to "moral turpitude" over his failure to file income tax returns from 1982 to 1985. She has authorized the Comelec to release her separate opinion on the case.

Ferolino has denied Guanzon's claims and accused her of trying to influence the resolution of the case.  —KBK, GMA News
