Sotto: We will bring back people’s trust in government

CAVITE —The tandem of presidential candidate Panfilo Lacson and vice presidential candidate Vicente Sotto III will bring back the trust of the people in the government.

This was promised by Sotto during their proclamation rally on Tuesday at Imus Grandstand in Cavite.

(That is why we are hoping that when the time comes, when Senator Lacson already sits there, we will bring back justice, we will bring back the trust in the judiciary, in the police, in our countrymen, and most especially, trust in the government.)

The vice presidential candidate assured the public that their administration will bring hope as he vouched for the track record of Lacson as well as their colleagues who joined the proclamation rally.

(We are seeing darkness but maybe this is our chance. As they say, the sunrise will come after the darkest times.)

(I have high hopes because I trust him and I trust the people who surround us. These people behind Ping Lacson have no history of corruption.)

Sotto then told the audience the problems that the country is facing, specifically the ongoing pandemic, poverty, corruption, among others.

(We already tackled these problems and we believe that we need to gain  back the trust of the public to the government.)

Citing their years of experience in the legislative branch, Sotto also mentioned the problem in the implementation of laws, as well as the distribution of government resources across the country.

“Kaya kami humihingi ng inyong tiwala kasi ang tingin namin kapag  kami ang nag-implement nito, tiyak na makakanibanag kayong lahat,” he said.

(That is why we are asking your trust because we believe that all of us will benefit if we will be the ones who will implement these laws.)

Makakisuguro pa kayo na walang korapsyon,” he added.

(It is different when the implementors are the ones who crafted the laws.)

The tandem launched their 2022 national campaign in Imus, Cavite-- the bailiwick of Lacson.
