The camp of presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday said actor and senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla has yet to be an official part of the BBM-Sara UniTeam's senatorial slate.

"The UniTeam only has eleven senatorial candidates. Mr. Robin Padilla belongs to another party and he has yet to be officially made part of our senatorial bets," lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos' spokesperson, said in a statement.

"But as what BBM (Bongbong Marcos) has said, he may join our event as guest and friend of the UniTeam," he added.

GMA News Online has reached the camp of Marcos' running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, on the matter but it has yet to reply as of posting time.

During a campaign rally in Ilocos Norte, Duterte named Padilla as the 12th senatorial candidate of the BBM-Sara UniTeam.

Padilla took his oath as a member of the ruling PDP-Laban last October 2021.

He supported and campaigned for President Rodrigo Duterte in the 2016 national elections. — RSJ, GMA News
