Sans physical distancing, DOH urges strict enforcement of COVID-19 rules in PUVs

Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire on Thursday said the public should still follow health protocols related to COVID-19 amid the loosened alert level restrictions.

In an episode of The Mangahas Interviews, Vergeire  said that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases knew that there would be no physical distancing with public transportation allowed to operate at 100% capacity.

"Ang isa pang napag usapan hindi talaga maipapatupad ang physical distancing sa ating mga public transport because kailangan po ng  tao e para makarating sila sa kanilang mga essential na gagawin," Vergeire told journalist Malou Mangahas.

"Kelangan lang po talaga meron po tayong adequate enforcement," she added.

Vergeire reiterated that there should be no eating and talking in the PUVs, neither should there be passengers more than the seating capacity.
