By JAMIL SANTOS,GMA News

Candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr's political camp on Friday slammed  "fake information" circulating on social media, claiming that UniTeam candidates will no longer engage in election debates .

"'The statement being attributed to me with the title, 'WALA NG DEBATE PARA SA MGA KANDIDATO NG UNITEAM MAGMULA PRESIDENTE HANGGANG KONSEHAL,' is a complete falsity and downright lie," Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos' spokesperson, said in a statement.

(The statement being attributed to me saying that UniTeam's candidates from president down to councilors would snub election debates is a complete falsity and downright lie.)

"Isa po syang fake news o pekeng impormasyon na may layong iligaw ang ating mga kababayan mula sa katotohanan. There is no such statement coming from me nor the BBM-Sara UniTeam" (It is fake news or fake information aiming to mislead our countrymen from the truth), he added.

Rodriguez pointed out that the fake information is the handiwork of their political adversaries' that engage in “gutter politics” against Marcos, and that this practice will worsen as they progress with the campaign.
