Fuel subsidy released to 35K of 136K card holders so far –LTFRB

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Wednesday said around 35,000 of the 136,000 initial card holders have received their P6,500 fuel subsidy, so far.

Interviewed on GMA News’ Unang Balita, LTFRB executive director Maria Kristina Cassion said they are expecting the Land Bank of the Philippines will complete the distribution by Friday.

“Balita po natin, nasa 35,000 po kahapon yung na-credit. So inaasahan natin na dodoble na ‘yung every day na nacre-credit ng Land Bank,” she said.

(It was reported to us that around 35,000 card holders were credited yesterday. We expect that the daily credited accounts by the Land Bank would double.)

Cassion said the Land Bank on Tuesday started the transfer of P6,500 fuel subsidy to public utility vehicle drivers and operators, who are affected by the series of fuel price hikes.

She advised beneficiaries who have yet to receive the amount to check their accounts until Friday when the Land Bank is expected to finish the distribution.

Asked about other beneficiaries like the drivers and operators of buses, tricycle, and delivery riders, Cassion said it is still in the process for distribution because they are part of the expanded program for fuel subsidy.

There is an  ongoing payroll for buses, according to Cassion. She also advised bus companies to provide their account numbers to their respective LTFRB regional offices.

For taxi cabs and transport network vehicle services, LTFRB regional offices will issue guidelines on Land Bank branches where they have to go to process their fuel subsidy cards. —LBG, GMA News
