Montemayor says poor, sick Filipinos firmed up plans for the presidency

Presidential candidate Dr. Jose Montemayor Jr. on Saturday said seeing poor and sick Filipinos firmed up his plans to seek the presidency.

“More than 40 years, umiikot na ako sa buong Pilipinas, nagsimula pa noong ako ay maging doktor. Ang obserbasyon ko isa lang, magsimula noon  hanggang ngayon, poor and sick Filipinos,” he said during the PiliPinas Debates 2022 organized by the Commission on Elections.

"85 to 90 million Filipinos ang napakahirap at may sakit, lalong-lalo na ngayon," he added.

The candidates were asked what they learned from their campaign that improved their plans for the country.

Montemayor said the corruption and the lack of government support to local government units should be addressed, saying these make life harder for the people.

"Kulang ang binibigay ...at kurapsyon, dumudugo ang ating bansa dahil sa nakawan. ....Ayusin nating mabuti ..." he said.—LDF, GMA News
