Raffy Tulfo remains leading senatorial bet in Pulse Asia's March 2022 survey

Broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo remains on top of the Eleksyon 2022 senatoriables in Pulse Asia Research Inc.'s senatorial aspirants survey conducted in March.

In a survey result released on Monday, Pulse Asia noted that Tulfo scored a 65.6% rating in a survey conducted from March 17 to 21.

This was however a slight decrease from his 66.9% rating

in February and 66.1% rating in January 2022.

Tulfo was followed by Antique Representative Loren Legarda with 58.3%, Taguig lawmaker Alan Peter Cayetano with 56.4%, Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero with 54.4%, former Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar with 52.4%, and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian with 50.3%.

Other senatorial aspirants who have a statistical chance of winning in the coming polls include Senator Miguel Zubiri with 50.1%, Senator Joel Villanueva with 43.9%, actor Robin Padilla with 42.5%, former Vice President Jejomar Binay with 42.5%, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada with 36.5%, and former lawmaker JV Ejercito with 35.9%.

They were followed by Senator Risa Hontiveros and former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista with 35.6% and 34.3%, respectively.

Meanwhile, among presidential candidates, former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. remained on top of the Pulse Asia survey, scoring 56%, although his rating dipped from the previous 60%. He was followed by Vice President Leni Robredo at 24%, up from the previous 15%.

Among vice presidential bets, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte led the pre-election poll with a 56% rating, followed by Senate President Vicente Sotto III at 34%.

The survey was taken using face-to-face interviews of 2,400 representatives aged 18 and above who are likely to vote in the May 2022 elections.

The has a ±2% error margin at the 95% confidence level, according to Pulse Asia.

Majority figures are recorded in Metro Manila (55%), Visayas (77%), Mindanao (82%), and all socio-economic groupings (55% to 68%).

The survey also showed that 1.8% of likely voters were uncertain in their choices for senator, another 0.2% refused to name their preferred senatorial candidates, and 1.7% were unlikely to vote for any senatorial aspirant. 

Partido Lakas ng Masa senatorial bet Luke Espiritu said was surprised by the leap in his awareness and voting percentage, adding that this showed Filipinos are open to his platforms.

“Mula Pebrero, hindi ko inasahang dumoble ang porsyento ng awareness at voting  sa loob lamang ng ilang linggo. Para sa isang kampanya na limitado ang pondo at makinarya, nakikita namin itong pag-usbong ng suporta bilang tanda na bukas ang mamamayang Pilipino sa ating plataporma. Sinasalamin ng survey ang ang nakikita natin sa pag-iikot sa mga komunidad sa buong bansa,” Espiritu said in a statement.

“Sawa na ang mga Pilipino sa mga trapo at elitista, at uhaw sila sa pag-unlad ng kanilang mga kabuhayan sa pagwawakas ng kontraktwalisasyon at pagtataas ng sahod. Bibitbitin namin ito sa mga susunod na linggo, at patuloy nating ipalalaganap ang aming plataporma sa mga pagawaan, pataniman, paaralan at komunidad,” he added.—With Richa Noriega/KG, GMA News
