DOH posts 278 new COVID-19 infections; active tally at 31K

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday registered 278 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide caseload to 3,680,514.

According to the DOH’s latest data, the number of active cases dropped to 31,472.

Among the top regions with cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 1,435, followed by Region 4-A with 534 and Region 6 with 384.

The DOH logged a total of 3,589,451 individuals who recovered from COVID-19.

The death toll, meanwhile, increased to 59,591.

A total of 20,227 individuals were tested, while 312 testing labs submitted data as of April 6. 

The DOH said the hospital bed occupancy rate in the country is 16.1%, with 5,433 beds occupied, while 27,325 are vacant. —VBL, GMA News
