PCG records over 19K outbound Good Friday travelers in seaports

The Philippine Coast Guard said that it has recorded more than 19,000 outbound passengers in all ports across the country on Good Friday.

In a situation report the PCG said that it has monitored a total of 19,043 outbound and 14,487 inbound passengers from midnight to 6 a.m. 

Likewise, the PCG said that it has deployed at total of 2,334 frontline personnel in 15 coastguard districts to inspect 176 vessels and 115 motorbancas.

PCG’s districts, stations, and sub-stations have also been placed under “heightened alert” to manage the surge of travelers in ports during the Holy Week break, and for the summer vacation period until May 31.
