By JOVILAND RITA,GMA News

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will look into the supposed reports to sabotage the conduct of the May 9 elections as claimed by four presidential candidates.

At a press conference on Monday, PNP chief Police General Dionardo Carlos said they have not encountered such report so far, but vowed to get the details from Senator Panfilo Lacson, one of the presidential candidates who bared the alleged plot.

"We'll get the details from Senator Lacson para matignan namin [so we can look into it]," Carlos said.

"So far I have here, si [Police Major General Valeriano de Leon], he's monitoring for the elections. Wala naman tayong major reports of ganun [We haven't received such major reports)," he added.

Lacson, along with fellow presidential candidates Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and former National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, warned of a possible attempt to destabilize the May 9 elections during a joint press conference on Sunday.

However, Lacson admitted that they have yet to validate the reports.

In a joint statement signed by the three candidates and another presidential bet, Senator Manny Pacquiao, they committed “to combat any attempt to subvert the true will of the people by preemptive maneuvers or otherwise limit their choices.”  —KBK, GMA News
