Comelec starts deployment of ballots for Eleksyon 2022
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday night started deploying ballots that will be used in the May 9 national and local elections.
The ballots were deployed from the Comelec warehouse in Pasig City to city/municipal treasurer's offices nationwide, the poll body said in an advisory.
Comelec Commissioner Aimee Ferolino, who heads the committee in charge of shipping the ballots, said they are hoping to finish the deployment by May 5.
Ferolino also assured the public that security measures are in place to protect the ballots while en route to their destinations.
"Escorted itong mga cargoes natin and they have road security so lahat ng security preps nakalatag na," she told reporters covering the deployment.
