Malacañang on Wednesday said among the challenges and issues that the next administration will face are those on COVID-19 response and the continuation of the anti-drug and anti-terrorism efforts.

At the Palace briefing, acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar was asked what are the three challenges that await the next president and administration.

“Sound fiscal policy reforms might be a challenge as it is needed to address our economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Second, to address the sub-variants of COVID-19.” he said.

“Pangatlo (Third) po, is to continue the significant strides of the Duterte administration in fighting drugs, crimes, and terrorism,” he added.

Andanar said the Duterte administration adopted the 10-point policy agenda through Executive Order 166 that, according to him, helped accelerate and sustain the economy's recovery from the pandemic.

He added that the current administration was already able to fully vaccinate around 67 million Filipinos.

Citing a survey from OCTA Research conducted from March 5 to 10, 2022, Andanar also shared that 83% of Filipinos approved the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
