Philippines' COVID-19 active cases drop to over 8K, lowest in 2022

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday logged 184 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s caseload to 3,685,403.

Based on the DOH’s latest data, the active infections dropped from 9,585 on Thursday to 8,389 on Friday. 

The latest number of active COVID-19 cases is the lowest recorded 2022.  

The DOH reported that top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,020 followed by Region IV-A with 391 and Region III with 231.

More individuals recovered from the viral disease, which brings the recovery tally to 3,616,709.

New fatalities, on the other hand, pushed the country’s death toll to 60,305.

The Philippines’ bed occupancy rate also decreased to 16.4% from the previous 16.8%, according to the latest data.

Meanwhile, a total of 5,217 beds were occupied, while 26,688 were vacant.

At least 20,219 individuals were tested, with 313 testing laboratories submitted data as of April 28, Thursday. —NB, GMA News
