Pacquiao warns of disorder if Marcos Jr. wins Eleksyon 2022

By JAMIL SANTOS,GMA News

Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao on Friday warned voters that disorder would prevail if his rival Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. won the presidency in Eleksyon 2022.

"Ito lang sabihin ko sa inyo, 'pag nanalo si Bongbong hindi titigil ang kaguluhan," Pacquiao said at a media briefing in Ormoc City, Leyte.

(This is what I will tell you, if Bongbong wins, chaos will prevail.)

Pacquiao lamented the same old politics in the country where the camp of the Marcoses and the so-called "dilawans" are competing for positions in the government.

"Kasi buti kung papayag yang dilawan. Kung manalo naman ang dilawan payag kaya ang kabila? So ganu'n na lang palagi ang politika natin dito, 'di na tayo naka-focus sa economic growth and development sa bansa. Ang naaapektuhan ang taumbayan," he said.

(The dilawans will not allow a Marcos victory. But if the dilawans win, will the other camp permit it? This has always been our politics here, we are no longer focused on economic growth and development in the country. The masses are being affected.)

Pacquiao made the remark following the camp of Marcos turning down Vice President Leni Robredo's debate challenge.

GMA News Online is trying to get comment from both Marcos and Robredo's camps as regards Pacquiao's remarks.

He said he still looked forward to facing other candidates in debates, stressing that running for presidency is like applying for a job where they need to undergo interviews so that the masses would get to know about their platforms.

"Ito ang totoo, correct me if I'm wrong pero ito ang totoo na nasa puso ko. Ayaw talaga nila mag-attend ng debate kasi baka magkamali pa ng sasabihin at baka mahalungkat ang mga itinatago nilang baho, 'yun 'yung iniiwasan," Pacquiao said.

(This is the truth. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the truth that is in my heart. They do not really want to attend a debate because they might commit mistakes and their scandals will be revealed. That is what they are avoiding.) —NB, GMA News
