Philippines logs 134 new COVID-19 cases, active infections at 5,145

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday registered 134 new COVID-19 cases as the country's active cases continues to fall from 5,303 on Monday to 5,145 on Tuesday, according to the DOH’s latest figures.

Tuesday's new cases brought the nationwide case load to 3,686,216.

Among the top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,075,  followed by Region 4-A with 385 and Region 3 with 237.

The Health department also logged a total of 3,620,659 individuals recovered from the viral disease.

The country’s death toll climbed to 60,412.

As of May 1, the DOH said at least 5,055 beds were occupied, while 26,763 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 15.9%.

It reported a total of 18,290 individuals were tested, while 315 testing labs submitted data as of May 2. —NB, GMA News
