Bongbong urges Pinoys to protect votes: ‘Huwag hayaang nakawin sa atin’

Days before the May 2022 national elections, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has called on Filipinos to protect their votes, stressing that these should not be “stolen.”

“Kailangan nating makiisa sa halalan. Ito’y sagrado nating pananagutan sa ating bayan sapagkat isang mahalagang sangkap ito ng proseso ng ating paghuhusga, kung sino ang mamumuno, pagkaraan ng pilian,” Marcos said in a video message.

(We should do our sacred duty to vote during elections because this is an important part in choosing who will lead after the electoral process.)

(In the coming May 9 polls, we should be vigilant with our votes. Let us protect our votes and let us not allow it to be stolen from us.)

Marcos is the standard bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and the running mate of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The former senator has since dominated presidential surveys, including the latest one from pollster Pulse Asia.

In his campaign rallies, Marcos has called for unity among Filipinos as he believes that this will solve the country’s problems.

Marcos reiterated that Filipinos should unite as the country aims to recover from the crisis brought by the pandemic. He said division should no longer exist among Filipinos.

(I am asking for two things this election. Number one, in the midst of crisis, let us unite and face the road to a better future.)

(Let us not divide and let us support a leader who will bring us to a better future.)

As he campaigned, he urged Filipinos who will not vote for him to still cast their votes on May 9.
