Bodies of 3 remaining children who drowned in Taal Lake found

Rescuers on Wednesday morning found the bodies of the three children who went missing while swimming in Taal Lake the previous day.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Captain Vic Acosta, commander of the Philippine Coast Guard in Batangas, said two of the kids were found around 7:45 a.m. while the third was found around 10 a.m.

"Sa kasamaang palad wala tayong na-revive," Acosta said. "Lahat po ay lifeless na po."

(Unfortunately we were not able to revive them. They were all dead.)

Acosta estimated the ages of the three as between 6 to 8 years.

Two of the children's companions were found Tuesday. They were identified as Sherin Ashtrid Dela Rosa, 8, and Jamie Rose Ann Jacutan, 12.

Citing information reaching them, Acosta said the five drowned while trying to save each other.

"Allegedly base sa statement, 'yung isa biglang nalunod, tapos yung isa tinulungan sagipin hanggang sa lima silang nadisgrasya," he said.
