PPCRV command center for Eleksyon 2022 opens on Sunday

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Sunday officially launched its command center for Eleksyon 2022 at the University of Santo Tomas.

PPCRV is an accredited citizen’s arm of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) responsible for the monitoring of the unofficial parallel count of election returns transmitted through to their servers.

According to Jaime Santos’ report on 24 Oras Weekend, PPCRV Director for Voter’s Education Dr. Arvin Serrano said they are entitled to the third copy of the certificate of canvass and statistical votes coming from canvassing centers all over the country.

“Hindi namin nakuha yan (election returns) na 100 percent. But hopefully with the declaration of the Comelec En Banc, na makukuha namin yan lahat. At madadala yan lahat dito sa UST na kung saan dito namin gagawin ang unofficial parallel count,” Serrano said.

(We don't get that (election returns) at 100 percent. But hopefully, with the declaration of the Comelec En Banc, we will get it all. And those will all be brought here to UST where we will do the unofficial parallel count.)

He also noted that they already identified the various challenges in obtaining national and local election returns.

Should there be a power outage, Serrano said the PPCRV would be able to immediately address the problem.

Meanwhile, PPCRV Chairman Emeritus Henrietta de Villa was among those who attended the Mass and opening of the command center at UST. — Mel Matthew Doctor/DVM, GMA News
