Bongbong visits father's tomb at Libingan

Presidential candidate and likely winner Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Tuesday visited the grave of his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

The former senator offered flowers to his father as shown in photos posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday. No further details were available as of posting time.

The Duterte administration had allowed the burial of Marcos Sr. at the Libingan ng mga Bayani despite widespread opposition and criticisms.

Marcos Jr. had said that his father deserves a place at Libingan as he was a former president and was a soldier.

As of 11:02 a.m. on Wednesday, Marcos Jr. continues to lead the presidential race with 31,078,996 votes based on partial, unofficial count, way ahead of his staunch contender, Vice President Leni Robredo, who has 14,809,527 votes. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
