Comelec partial, official tally has Robin Padilla on top of senatorial tally

Actor Robin Padilla still topped the senatorial elections based on the partial and official canvassing results in four regions released by the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) on Thursday morning.

Sitting as the NBOC, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) canvassed the votes for senators and party-list groups coming from certain areas in the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

The following are the Top 12 senatoriables based on the NBOC’s National Tally Sheet Report Number 2, released on May 12, 2022 at 5:43 a.m., for the Certificates of Canvass for the said areas:

  • Legarda, Loren – 12,290,805
  • Tulfo, Raffy - 12,223,867
  • Gatchalian, Sherwin - 10,427,847
  • Escudero, Chiz - 10,403,405
  • Cayetano, Allan Peter - 9,852,390
  • Villar, Mark – 9,799,932
  • Zubiri, Juan Miguel - 9,610,489

As of Wednesday night, the COCs from San Juan, Batanes, Las Piñas, Catanduanes, Romblon, Zambales, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Sur, Camiguin, Kalinga, Siquijor, Biliran, Malabon, Pasig, Marinduque, Valenzuela, Tarlac, Guimaras, Marikina, Dinagat Islands, Benguet, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Baguio City, Ifugao, La Union, Occidental Mindoro, Aurora, Parañaque, Iligan City, Navotas, Aklan, Lanao del Norte, Sorsogon, Sarangani, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Rizal, Southern Leyte, Abra, Pasay City, Bulacan, Antique, Albay, Camarines Norte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Masbate, Zamboanga Sibugay, Apayao, Negros Orriental, Davao Oriebtal, Mountain Porvince, Quirino, Davao de Oro, Pampanga, Batangas, Eastern Samar, Agusan del Norte, Capiz, Sultan Kudarat, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, Bacolod City, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Misamis Occidental have already been canvassed.

For the overseas voting, those from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Lebanon, Oman, Brunei, Agana, Thailand, Athens, Taiwan, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Japan, and Spain have also been canvassed.

The NBOC resumed the canvassing of votes at around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Acting Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco on Thursday said the poll body planned to proclaim the 12 winning senators in the May 9 polls early next week. The proclamation of the 63 winning party-list groups will follow this.

The votes canvassed by the NBOC are considered as the partial and official results of this year’s elections.

The NBOC said Tuesday that the poll body will create a sub-canvassing body for party-list groups. —NB, GMA News
