Philippines' 3,177 active COVID-19 cases lowest this year

The Philippines on Thursday recorded this year's lowest COVID-19 active count at 3,177.  A total of 139 new cases were also reported.

The new COVID-19 infections brought the total caseload to 3,687,567, based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) website.

A total of 3,623,938 people have been counted as recoveries, while the death toll climbed to 60,452.

The regions with the most cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 905 infections, Calabarzon with 280, and Central Luzon with 230.

A total of 20,505 individuals were tested as of May 11, with 319 laboratories being able to submit data.

The bed occupancy rate in the country was 15.3%, with 4,817 beds occupied out of the 31,454.—LDF, GMA News
