An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday said only 90% of the electoral board members have claimed their honoraria for services rendered during the May 9 elections.

At a press briefing, Comelec deputy executive director for operations Teopisto Elnas urged poll workers to pick up the compensation as the law gives the poll body only 15 days to settle the payments.

“As of yesterday when we had a meeting with all regional directors sa buong Pilipinas, mayroon tayong 90% pa lang na status ng payment of the honorarium to electoral boards,” he said.

The additional payment will cover 2,308 precincts where issues were reported during the elections.
