No serious threats to Marcos, Sara inaugurations monitored –PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said it had not monitored any serious threats to the inaugurations of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte.

At the Laging Handa public briefing, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said intelligence monitoring and gathering were continuing to ensure the security at the events.

“Sa ngayon po, wala tayong nare-receive na any serious threat dito sa Manila at maging doon sa Davao kung saan po gaganapin yung inauguration ni Vice President-elect Sara Duterte,” Fajardo added,

(So far, we have not received any serious threat here in Manila and even in Davao where the inauguration for Vice President-elect Sara Duterte will be held.)

On Thursday, Marcos’ camp announced that the incoming president’s inauguration would be held at the National Museum of the Philippines

“With this, the PNP is tasked to assist in the security of the venue and even to the areas where he will pass through. Just like the concerned agencies and other law enforcement units, the PNP is in full swing as far as preparation is concerned,” the PNP said in a Friday statement.

Earlier, it was reported that the San Pedro Square in Davao City was being readied for the inauguration of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte on June 19.

Fajardo said Security Task Group (STG) Manila and STG Davao were created for the security of the inaugurations.

Fajardo said the PNP was coordinating with the concerned agencies and transition teams of the incoming officials in light of the events. — DVM, GMA News
