Senator-elect Robin Padilla takes oath before President Duterte

Senator-elect Robin Padilla took his oath of office before President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday.

Padilla was accompanied by his wife Mariel Padilla and their children Isabella and Gabriela when he took his oath in Malacañang.

"We are sooo sooo sooo proud of you @robinhoodpadilla I KNOW you will be an amazing and effective Senator," Mariel said in an Instagram post.

"All eyes on you… but that’s okay we like challenges. ????when you were taking your oath, I told myself Robin was born to be GREAT. Meron talagang mga tao na destined to excel… si Robin ganun. You got this babe! We are behind you, beside you and with you all the way. God speed! Allah hu Akbar!" Mariel continued.

(There are people who are destined to excel. Just like Robin.)

Padilla topped the 2022 senatorial elections with 26,612,434 votes, based on the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) tally.

He ran under the ruling PDP-Laban.

Padilla has expressed confidence that he can lead the Senate committee on constitutional amendments and revision of codes despite being a neophyte lawmaker.—Jamil Santos/AOL, GMA News
