Luzon Grid placed under yellow alert anew
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday placed the Luzon grid under yellow alert, following the forced outage of several plants across the country.
In an advisory, the NGCP said the Luzon Grid will be on yellow alert from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, indicating that the grid has thin reserves based on the difference between supply and demand.
The operating requirement stands at 11,274 megawatts, with the available capacity at 12,008 megawatts and a net operating margin of 369 megawatts.
The NGCP noted a total unplanned unavailable energy of 1,592 megawatts due to the forced outage of QPPL, SLPGC 1, SLPGC 3, SLPGC 4, GMEC 1, GMEC 2, and Calaca. —KBK, GMA News
