Marcos graces Bacoor's cityhood anniversary, thanks voters

President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday expressed gratitude to voters in Cavite who supported him in winning Eleksyon 2022.

Marcos graced the 10th cityhood anniversary of Bacoor, Cavite on June 23. He was welcomed by Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and wife Mayor Lani Mercado.

This was Marcos' first out of town public appearance after he was proclaimed as the 17th president of the Philippines. He thanked the local government for inviting him in this event.

(I thank all of you, the people of Bacoor, all the Caviteños, I know many of you helped us win the elections. I always say that the victory of Marcos-Duterte tandem and the UniTeam is not only that of the candidates but of the supporters because we will not be able to do it with you especially the big number of votes we received, 31 million for me and 32 million for Inday Sara, without your help, without your love, without your support.)

Marcos won in Cavite, a vote-rich province, with more than one million votes.

He vowed that in return for this overwhelming support, his administration would exert all effort to give Filipinos a decent living. He is confident that with everyone's cooperation, the Philippines would recover.

(Expect that we will not fail the vote, support, love that you have given us because we will do everything to uplift the lives of the Filipino people.)

The incoming president also urged the public to continue the call for unity, the centerpiece of his campaign in the recent national elections.—AOL, GMA News
