PCG vows full cooperation with incoming DOTr chief Bautista

The Philippine Coast Guard vowed full cooperation with incoming Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, PCG Spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo said Friday.

During the Laging Handa Briefing, Balilo said the PCG, led by Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu, had extended its congratulations to Bautista for his appointment as the next Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

"Kami po ay naniniwala sa kanyang kakayahan at ang daratnan niya naman po sa Philippine Coast Guard, pinapangako namin ang isang propesyunal, committed, at competent na mga tauhan na nasa kanyanang disposal, maaring gamitin. At kami po ay magko-cooperate at tutulong sa anumang layunin ng Department of Transportation," Balilo said.

(We vouch for his capability and promise that he will see a professional, committed, and competent Philippine Coast Guard at his disposal. We will cooperate and help in all the endeavors of the Department of Transportation.)

Bautista, former Philippine Airlines president and chief operating officer, was named by President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. as incoming DOTr Secretary.

Bautista, a certified public accountant, worked at PAL for 25 years and served as its president for 13 years before his retirement in 2019.  — DVM, GMA News
