Philippines logs 777 new COVID-19 cases as active tally hits 6,425

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday recorded 777 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day tally since March. 

This brings the nationwide tally to 3,700,028, while the country’s active case count rose to 6,425 from 6,068 on Friday, according to the DOH’s latest figures.

The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region with 3,455, followed by Calabarzon with 1,211, Western Visayas with 601, Central Luzon with 460, and Central Visayas with 310.

The number of recoveries climbed to 3,633,096, while the death toll remained at 60,507.

As of June 23, the bed occupancy rate in the country was 17.9%, with 5,304 beds occupied and 24,325 vacant.

The DOH reported that a total of 19,068 individuals were tested on June 24, while 322 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA News
