Supporters show up early in Manila for Marcos inauguration
Clad mostly in red, supporters of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. trooped early to the Club Intramuros Golf Course in Manila on Thursday morning to await his inauguration.

Authorities earlier said the golf course, which is in front of the National Museum of Fine Arts on Padre Burgos Avenue, will be allotted for Marcos supporters. The area can hold around 25,000 to 30,000 people.
The public was allowed to enter Victoria and General Luna streets, which are on both sides of the golf course, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Authorities checked supporters' belongings and confiscated prohibited items.

One supporter said she is hoping Marcos will fulfill his promise of bringing the price of rice down to P20 per kilo.

Some supporters even brought their pets.

A tent was set up to provide first aid for those who may need them. As of past 9 a.m., five supporters were brought to the tent as they experienced dizziness and high blood pressure.

Meanwhile, the venue for the oath-taking, the National Museum, has been made ready.
The stage has been set and chairs were already in place early Thursday.

Security is tight at the venue, according to Isa Umali of Super Radyo dzBB.

Marcos is expected to arrive at the National Museum past 10 a.m. after he has met with President Rodrigo Duterte at Malacañang.
The inauguration ceremony, which Marcos' camp said will be simple and traditional, will also feature a civic-military parade.
Meanwhile, militant groups said they will hold a protest action at Plaza Miranda at 10 a.m.
