Rep. Sandro Marcos on Cha-cha: Kailangan ko pag-aralan muna

Ilocos Norte Representative Ferdinand Alexander "Sandro" Marcos on Monday deferred commenting on the proposal to amend the 1987 Constitution, which includes extending the terms of public officials.

"Like I said, kailangan ko pag-aralan muna [I need to study it first]," Marcos told reporters when asked on his stand on Charter change or Cha-cha.

"I don't want to talk about any legislative priorities for now. I filed my first 10 bills already and it will be available on my social media pages."

The son of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Rep. Marcos was attending the seminar for the new members of the House of Representatives at the Batasang Pambansa on Monday.

"With regard to Cha-cha, there are much better legal luminaries who are quite entrenched in the House, who are better suited to answer the question," he said.

Nevertheless, the younger Marcos says he is excited to take on his new job.

"I am very excited. I want to learn as much as I can. It feels weird to be here, not as a staff member but as a congressman," he said.

Marcos was referring to his previous stint as a member of the staff of his uncle, then-House Majority Leader and incoming Speaker Ferdinand Romualdez.

"I want to build on my two-year experience in the House," Marcos said. —Llanesca T. Panti/KBK, GMA News
