Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday night visited the wake of former Camarines Sur Representative Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya Jr.

Duterte arrived at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City around 6:45 p.m.

It was the last night of Andaya’s wake as the inurnment of his ashes at St. Therese Columbarium in Pasay City has been scheduled for Tuesday.

According to a police report, Andaya was found dead inside his own residence in Naga City on June 30.

“With deep grief and sadness, we announce the untimely death of our father, former member of the House of Representatives, Rolando 'Nonoy' G. Andaya, Jr., this morning, June 30, 2022,” his children Ranton and Katrina Andaya wrote on Facebook.

“We request for your fervent prayers for his eternal repose, and to allow us, his family, to grieve privately our loss,” they added.

Andaya's death comes two years after the death of his wife, Camarines Sur Congresswoman Marissa Andaya, of cancer in July 2020.

Andaya also ran for Camarines Sur governor in the 2022 elections but lost to incumbent Governor Miguel Villafuerte. — BM, GMA News
