DOH logs 1,198 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 10,323

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 1,198 new COVID-19 infections, increasing the nationwide tally to 3,711,268.

The active case tally also increased to 10,323 from 10,032 on Tuesday, based on the Health department’s latest figures.

The DOH said the top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 6,020, followed by Calabarzon with 2,478, Western Visayas with 1,078, Central Luzon with 899, and Central Visayas with 574.

According to the Health department, the country’s recovery tally climbed to 3,640,323, while the number of deaths also increased to 60,622.

The DOH said at least 5,709 beds were occupied, while 23,468 were still vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 19.6%.

Meanwhile, a total of 20,965 individuals were tested, while 326 testing labs submitted data as of July 5, the department added. — BM, GMA News
