DOTr chief names Romeo Vera Cruz as LTO officer-in-charge

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista on Wednesday named lawyer Romeo Vera Cruz as officer-in-charge of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Bautista issued the appointment through Special Order No. 2022-130 pursuant to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s Memorandum Circular No. 1 released on July 1, 2022.

According to the Special Order, Vera Cruz will “perform and discharge the functions and responsibilities” of the position until July 31,2022 or until a replacement has been appointed or designated. He is also authorized to act on administrative as well as the day-to-day functions of the agency.

Prior to his appointment, Vera Cruz served as the executive director of the LTO.—LDF, GMA News
