PSG ensures security for Marcos' first SONA

Preparations are underway for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ first State of the Nation Address on July 25.

According to the Presidential Security Group (PSG), an inter-agency meeting was held following the instructions of PSG Group Commander Colonel Ramon Zagala to ensure the safety and security of the President as well as attendees and the whole event.

In a Facebook post, the group said the meeting was spearheaded by PSG Task Force SONA 2022 Commander Colonel Nelson Aluad along with the core group.

It was attended by the augmentations from various government security agencies and units under the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Health (DOH) and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).

“Series of oculars, walk-throughs and inter-agency coordination follow until the day of the SONA itself,” the PSG said.
