Mascots, dance-offs, and performances entertained a crowd that gathered on IBP Road in Quezon City on Monday in support of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.'s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) later that day.

The event, which started around 1 p.m., featured mascots of Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte on stage dancing to campaign chants and a song popular on Tiktok, "Zoom" by Jessi.

When the mascots joined the audience, the supporters danced and took selfies with them. Some supporters were also randomly invited on stage to dance.

Bands such as Inner Voices and Plethora also performed and played old hit songs.

“...Concert-concert lang tayo [We are just doing concerts],” organizer Malayang Quezon City president Edwin Rodriguez told reporters.

“Masaya lang tayo rito. Tapos na politika. Isa kulay natin. Isa ang ating mithiin, ito po ay para sa bayan na sana po magkaisa, magkasundo lahat, magtulong-tulong para po makabangon at magkaisa ang Pilipinas,” he added.

(We are just happy here. No more politics. We only have one color. One goal, this is for the unity and harmony of our country, helping together so the Philippines will recover and unite.)

When the video of Marcos delivering his SONA speech started to broadcast on the screen at the venue around 4 p.m., some of the audience were seen leaving the area.

One of the attendees, Jordan Elepedes, brought his dolls of Marcos and Duterte. According to him, he created the little sculptures and is selling them for P2,000 each.

Some vendors were also roaming the venue selling Marcos-themed souvenirs like stickers, key chains, and bottle openers for around P50 to P100.

One of the vendors, Ging Fernandez, a supporter of Marcos, said she hoped that the president would his plans for vendors like her.
