Ako Bicol's Co to lead appropriations panel, Salceda keeps ways and means chairmanship

The House of Representatives on Tuesday named some of the chairpersons of several committees, with Elizaldy Co of the Ako Bicol party-list leading the appropriations body and Joey Salceda of Albay retaining his post as ways and means panel chairperson.

Marikina Representative Stella Quimbo will sit as senior vice chairperson of the committee on appropriations.

Negros Occidental Representative Juliet Ferrer will chair the committee on justice, while Pasig Representative Roman Romulo will lead the committee on basic education and culture.

Tingog party-list Representative Yedda Romualdez, wife of Speaker Martin Romualdez of Leyte, will serve as chairperson of the committee on accounts.

These lawmakers were also named to lead the following committees:

  • Edgar Chatto of Bohol (committee on climate change)

  • Teodorico Haresco Jr. of Aklan (committee on economic affairs)
  • Mark Go of Baguio City (committee on higher and technical education)
  • Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo of Lanao del Norte (committee on Muslim affairs)
  • Elpidio Barzaga of Dasmariñas City (committee on natural resources) 
  • Romeo Momo of Surigao del Sur (committee on public works and highways)
