Employees evacuate offices following magnitude 7 earthquake

Employees were seen rushing out of their offices after a magnitude 7 earthquake hit Abra on Wednesday morning.

In a tweet, dzBB's Allan Gatus said staff of the Department of Science and Technology-PAGASA and Bureau of Internal Revenue were seen outside their office building in Lagangilan, Abra at around 9 a.m.

Employees of the Senate in Pasay City also stayed for almost an hour outside the building while authorities check for damages, dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo reported.

Palace employees at the New Executive Building were also seen evacuating, based on the tweet of GMA News Online reporter Anna Felicia Bajo.

Meanwhile, construction workers of an ongoing hotel-casino building, as well as students and staff from the University of the Philippines-Manila rushed outside following the strong quake, dzBB's Manny Vargas said in a tweet.

Personnel from the Manila Police District were advised to evacuate the building.

Moreover, doctors, patients, and hospital staff were also evacuated from the Manila Doctors Hospital building at around 9 a.m after the quake.

Dr. Hian Kua, the medical director of MDH, told dzBB's Manny Vargas in a brief interview that patients who cannot be brought out of the facility due to their condition are still accompanied by hospital employees.
