Sara Duterte visits wake of ex-President Fidel V. Ramos

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday paid her last respects to former president Fidel V. Ramos at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.

During her visit, Duterte also extended her condolences to the Ramos family.

She said Ramos will be remembered as the “most disciplined and mission accomplished President.”

“Hindi namin malilimutan bilang mga Pilipino ang pagsisikap ni FVR upang maiahon ang antas ng ekonomiya ng ating bansa at magkaroon ng kapayapaan sa Mindanao at buong Pilipinas,” Duterte added.

(As Filipinos, we will never forget FVR's efforts to raise the economic level of our country and bring peace to Mindanao and the entire Philippines.)

Malacañang earlier announced that Ramos will be accorded a state funeral with full military honors on August 9.

The burial will be at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Ramos, who served as president of the Philippines from 1992 to 1998, died at the age of 94, his family announced on July 31. — BM, GMA News
